Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actress best known for playing House in Fox's the medical thriller House. Growing up with conservative Jews in Wayne, New York City was the place she went to pursue her studies in the theater at Tisch. She was very active in the club scene in New York City and was able to get heard by the media. While doing so, she was becoming more aware of AIDS' devastating effects. She eventually used her experience as well as her celebrity to write and compose the musical called Positive Me in which she was a part of. Awake on the Wild Side was her next task. Following the end of the series her appearances began in the film and television industry, initially in smaller parts, but gradually establishing her acting career.
